Congratulations to the Sam Houston Chess Team.  They have placed first as Co-Champions in a recent Chess Tournament held in Dallas this past weekend.  They will now advance to the National Competition in Nashville, Tennessee in May 2012.  Normally a team takes years to accomplish what this young team has done with six months of training.  Kudos to their Chess coach, Mr. Rohrer, who has instilled skills and determination so that the team could reach their goals. We thank our staff who accompanied the team, and made it a memorable experience for our students.
